Chef Jane and Leo

Food is yet another thing of great importance at Wild at Heart.

It not only fuels children for their energetic days but we believe it should be a learning opportunity and enjoyable experience.

Our kitchen was designed to be very open plan with a low breakfast bar so children can see and join in with the food making process.

Our chef, Jane, comes daily and prepares all meals from scratch and we have a 14 day rotating menu so all children experience all meals.

Our menus follow nutritional guidelines for the under 5's and is full of typical hearty hot lunches such as lasagne, cottage pie, vegetable curry, cobbler and pasta dishes for example.

Teas include sandwiches, scones, wraps and soups, with morning and afternoon snacks including a wide selection of fruit, breadsticks, toast, crackers and savoury muffins.

We are lucky enough to have an extra room at Wild at Heart which opens on from the kitchen, so it is predominately our lunchroom.

All Forest Keepers and Park Rangers sit at tables with high quality bamboo kitchenware and metal cutlery.

The staff eat with the children at the tables demonstrating healthy eating and correct table manners.
